Opportunities for Individuals
Support. Invest. Impact.
Transition Projects’ work is only possible because of the large community of supporters contributing to our success.
From IMPACT Gala attendees to event volunteers, each person who takes the time to support our initiatives or events makes a difference to our organization and those we serve.
We’d love to have you join the community of Portlanders who support our work.

Get Involved
Greet Guests and Process Donations*
Provide customer service and reception at Bud Clark Common's main reception desk — welcoming and directing guests; accepting and processing in-kind donations; and providing light administrative assistance as needed to the Development Department. Shifts available: Mondays 9 a.m. - noon, Wednesdays 3 - 6 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m. - noon
Distribute Participant Mail*
Transition Projects’ Resource Center serves as the mailing address for hundreds of people experiencing homelessness. All of this mail needs to be sorted and handed out to participants as they come to collect theirs. We ask for a weekly or bi-weekly commitment to serve in this role.
Process Donated Items*
We receive thousands of items yearly that need to be sorted, organized, and routed to the programs and people who need them. We ask for a weekly or bi-weekly commitment to serve in this role.
Donate Gifts in Kind
Whether it be shoes, sheets, khakis, or canned goods, our shelters thrive off new or lightly used donations from community members. See our updated list of most needed donations!
Host a Donation Drive
Increase your impact by organizing a collection event for our critically needed items like seasonal clothing for adults, socks, underwear, and new hygiene items. Learn more.
Become an On-Call Volunteer*
Throughout the year, our team often needs volunteer help with special projects and events. From helping deliver donations, to working at a severe weather shelter or providing extra hands at an event, there are many opportunities to get involved.
Facilitate Access to Hygiene Services*
Hundreds of people each day visit our Resource Center to access hygiene services like showers, clothing, and laundry. Help our team facilitate access to these services, get participants the supplies they need, and oversee clothing closet access. Weekly 2-hr shift required.
