Cold Weather Support

As the weather gets colder, your support makes all the difference.

There are so many ways to get involved this winter!

Multnomah County Severe Weather Resources

The joint Office of Homeless Services, together with Multnomah County and the City of Portland, monitors weather conditions and will open severe weather shelters when certain thresholds are met:

  • Temperatures are forecast at 25 degrees or below

  • Forecasters predict an inch or more of snow

  • Overnight temperatures drop below 32 degrees, with an inch of driving rain.

  • Other conditions occur as needed, including severe wind chills or extreme temperature fluctuations.

The Joint Office of Homeless Services works with local providers to operate these severe weather shelters. For more information on these shelters and how to get involved, visit their website here.
